Our biggest project became the perfect opportunity to prove that Uniplan Group will do whatever it takes to install 49 modules at Turtle Sands Holiday Park. Turtle Sands is the only place in Australia’s mainland that offers accommodation options right near Mon Repos Conservation Park. Mon Repos Conservation Park is home to the largest colony of marine turtles on the eastern Australian mainland, including the endangered loggerhead turtle.
Our team spent five months on site bringing the project to life, installing each building as it arrived after an 810-kilometre journey from our Armidale factory, where all modules were constructed. Working within a tight deadline to ensure completion by the September school holidays, we collaborated closely with the certifier and engineer to work efficiently through late-stage requirements, including a specialised performance solution to ensure the cladding met the site’s strict cyclone rating.
During turtle nesting season, we were especially mindful of our construction schedule, restricting work to between 7 am and 5 pm. All buildings at Turtle Sands were constructed to adhere to the Turtle Sands Turtle Management Plan. This included minimising artificial light at night, selecting appropriate building colours, and tinting windows. We also integrated eco-friendly features like solar panels to the buildings, EV chargers, and energy-efficient sliding doors into the project.
This project is just one example of what we can achieve at Uniplan Group. We’re ready to tackle projects large and small, so reach out to our Sales Manager, Thomas Thorncroft, to see what we can do for you.
